BG Gheorghiţă Vlad takes command of the Romanian Land Forces Combat Training Center “Getica”

Romanian Land Forces Combat Training Center “Getica”, known as Cincu CTC, welcomes the new commander, Brigadier General Gheorghiţă Vlad.Major General Dumitru Scarlat, Chief of the Romanian Land Forces Staff, was overseen the event.

 

BG Gheorghiţă Vlad changed leadership with COL Ilie Baciu, the Deputy Commander of Cincu CTC, in a ceremony witnessed by the Land Forces leadership. MG Dumitru Scarlat thanked to COL Ilie Baciu for all his efforts and achievements during his acting duties and congratulated BG Vlad for all his accomplishments in the Romanian Land Forces wishing him “Good luck!” in the new assignment.

 

“I am here with a very clear goal: to transform and improve not only the Land Forces’ training facilities, but the ones of the entire Romanian Armed Forces. I ask you to work as a team in order to achieve our objectives!”, said BG Gheorghiţă Vlad addressing to his new unit.

Brigadier general Gheorghiţă Vlad graduated from the National Defence University “Carol I” in Bucharest. His education also includes a Master Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He brings a lot of experience to Cincu CTC from the 1st Mechanized Brigade “Argedava” where he served as Commander since March 2014. He also served as a Tanks Battalion Commander; in 2007, he was deployed in Iraq serving as a staff officer in the “Iraqi Freedom” Multinational Force Headquarters.
