BG Gheorghiţă VLAD

 

 

Brigadier General Gheorghiţă VLAD is the commander of the Romanian Joint National Training Center “GETICA”, headquartered in Cincu, Braşov County. He took command August 5th, 2016.

 

Brig. Gen. VLAD was commissioned into the Tanks Officers’ Corps after graduating the Active-duty Commissioned Officer School in 1991. He has served in a wide variety of positions in operational units, like 22nd Tank Battalion, as Platoon Leader, Company Commander and Chief of Operations. He commanded the 631st Tanks Battalion before attending the Academy for Advanced Military Studies and most recently Commander of “Argedava" 1st Mechanized Brigade.

 

Brig. Gen. Vlad’s staff experience includes service as staff officer in G3 Operations, 1st Territorial Army Corp, Chief of Planning, Romanian Land Forces Headquarter, and Chief of Intelligence, in the Romanian Land Component Command.

 

Brig. Gen. Vlad graduated from U.S. Army War College, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, United States, where he earned a Master’s degree in Strategic Security Studies and also he holds degree from Lucian Blaga University in the field of International Relations and European Studies.

 

Brig. Gen. Vlad has been deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007. His awards include the Military Virtue Order in rank of Knight, Army Commendation Medal of the United States Marine Corps Forces - Europe and several national emblems of honor and emblems of merit.
