Training events associated with Saber Guardian 17 multinational exercise

Multinational exercise Saber Guardian 2017 (SG17) conducted by U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) will take place in Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary, over July 11 to 20, 2017.

Media representatives are invited to cover training events associated with Exercise Saber Guardian 17 by registering for accreditation with at least 14 days in advance, at https://goo.gl/forms/ejjlHM2k7U9a3e9k1.

Following are the training events associated with Saber Guardian 17 conducted at the Romanian Joint National Training Center “Getica” available for media coverage:

13 July Fire Support Coordination Exercise (GS17)

14 July Engineer Capabilities Demo (Resolute Castle 17)

15 July Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise (GS17)

About 25,000 service members from 22 allied and partner nations will take part multinational exercise Saber Guardian 2017 (SG17), over July 11 to 20, 2017.

Other actions and support events are planned in the days before or after the exercise. To enhance its efficiency, SG17 will be supported by several smaller scale exercises led by the USA and European partner and allied countries conducted this year in the Black Sea region, meant to facilitate a wide range of military actions that would contribute to the security and stability in the area, thus enhancing the deterrence posture.

Conducted annually since 2013, Saber Guardian rotates through Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine. SG17 is part of U.S. European Command's Joint Exercise Program (JEP intended to enhance interoperability at joint and national level with allied and partner nations.
